Toyota-Automobile Museum

The Toyota Automobile museum is actually a five-ten minute drive from our house and it took us around an hour to walk through. This was my first and Pam's second visit.
The museum was established in 1989 and houses a collection of 100+ classic and rare cars from the 1890s to the 1960s. It has two levels and an annex. One level is for European/American cars and the other for Japanese designed models.

Entry Ticket
I am not a car person, but it was an entertaining collection of cars. It was interesting to watch the evolution of car design, but more so, just admiring the quality and finish of the cars in the collection.
Rolls Royce Silver Ghost 1910
Baker Electric 1902
Peugeot Bébé 1913 - 2.4 meters Long
Hubcap from the Toyota AA 1936 - (The First Toyota Car)
Car Mascot from the Toyoda AA
Fuji Motors' Fujicabin' 1955 - bizarre little two seater. It is 2.9 meters long and I would have no chance of fitting inside it.
Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz 1959- A long car - over 5.7 meters long

As I am not a big car fan, one of the exciting parts of the collection was a small set of Tintin models, as I am a Tintin fan from way back, this was great fun.
Go Captain

At the end of the museum, kids who had collected all their stamps could get a free car model that they could put together. We saw a similar thing at the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology. This was a great idea and you can just see the room at the back where the kids could get to work
The museum shop had an impressive range of model cars, Toyota biscuits and well... commemorative curry, especially from the museum. Notice the speed dials for how hot the curry is..cute!
