Downstairs layout

Parker having a snack in the entry. There is a cupboard to the right is for shoes.

View from the Entry.

Another view from the Entry. There are two doors on the left. One to the tatami(mat) room, the other to the lounge.

The Tatami(mat) room.

In the Tatami room, facing the lounge. There are sliding doors to the lounge.
We have some new furniture in the Tatami room. It is actually a usable space now
Another view of the Tatami room.

Parker showing off the lounge suite.

From the Lounge to the Dining/kitchen area.

A second tatami area. There are tatami mats either side of the lounge. Parker likes watching the local cats through the window

I like the lime dining set we received as part of our furniture hire.

The kitchen is not big enough for two people. You can see the three garbage bins, there is a lot of recycling, don't let three bins fool you. We have to split our garpage into about 6-7 categories, some gets picked up at the house, some at a local recycling station and some at the supermarket.

Our dishwasher is in the foreground. There is also no oven. (our microwave doubles as a convection oven). There is also a small door in the kitchen that I think is just for ventilation. All the houses we looked at had similar doors in the kitchen.

Bathroom/laundry.

Bath/shower. Japanese houses have big baths. The whole room is tiled and the area beside the bath is used as a shower.

The amazing toilet. When you flush the toilet, the tap above the cistern pours water back in, you can wash your hands in the water as it pours through, so no separate tap/basin.

A close up of the control panel on the toilet. I have not tried most of the buttons. Usually, the buttons warm the seat, create a bidet, make an audio noise to hide any toilet noises, etc.

Parker playing.

Upstairs layout

The upstairs hall. The doors in front and to the right are storage rooms with sloping ceilings. The door to the left is the spare bedroom. Behind me are the main bedroom, study and upstairs toilet.

Looking down the very steep stairs.

Spare bedroom Until our bed arrives on the ship, we are using this as the main bedroom.

Spare bedroom again.

The study.

The main bedroom (currently empty until our bed arrives).
