Nagoya.Population
As an Australian, I had difficulty with the population of Nagoya (2.2 Million) compared to Melbourne (3.7 million). I could not understand why my city of Melbourne had more people, but Nagoya seemed bigger. It all makes sense when you identify what is counted. I had the same problem in San Francisco where people kept telling me that there were less than a million people in San Francisco when I KNEW it was a huge city.
Basically if you look at the table below ( gathered from various Wikipedia pages) you can see that when I talk of Melbourne, I talk about something bigger than the whole Aichi prefecture (The province where Nagoya is the capital), so not really comparing apples against apples.
| City/State | km² |
